KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Sprint announced that it is closing its Overland Park call center and laying off about 200 local employees who work there.

In January, the company warned employees that layoffs were coming.

Two other call centers are also closing, including one in suburban New York City and another in Sacramento, Calif.
