Kimberly, AUSTRALIA – Park rangers in Australia got quite the surprise recently after they had lost a camera they had set up along a river back in May.

Wild-life rangers in the Kimberly region of Western Australia had set up a small motion sensor camera along the Margaret River back in May. They had hoped to catch footage of crocodiles, but instead the camera went missing a short while later.

Assuming that the camera had fallen into the river, rangers chalked it up to a loss until it was recently recovered on by the Mary River.

While the camera was recording, it was actually picked up in the claws of an eagle. The footage found on the device, which was released on Monday, shows the bird taking flight in a series of extreme close-ups. After the eagle lands on a rock formation it can be seen pecking at the camera.
