KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Animal lovers are rallying around local dog, Roadrunner, who lost both of his eyes due to extensive injuries he suffered at the hands of his owner, Kimberly Anderson, who has been charged with animal abuse.
Now that Roadrunner is on his way to a healthier, happier life, RayGun, a local T-shirt shop, has stepped in to help.
“I think like 95 percent of us love animals, so it hits home more than some folks, maybe,” Suzanne Corum-Rich said. “We just wanted to do something to be able to support and do what we do best which is to make a T-shirt about it. We thought we could do this and give all the profits to his recovery and it’s the best thing we knew we could do.”
RayGun partnered with Kansas City Pet Project and have designed T-shirts that feature an outline of the Tibetan Spaniel and the words, “Roadrunner is my hero.”
The shirts are available in store and online and come in sizes appropriate for men, women and children. Cost is $21 or $20. All proceeds will go to the Kansas City Pet Project to help cover Roadrunner’s medical bills.
Additionally, on Monday, Dec. 15, a percentage of every purchase made in the RayGun store will go to help pay for Roadrunner’s recovery.
