EL CAJON, Calif. — A teacher lost her job after her abusive ex-husband was released from jail. School authorities were reportedly concerned children may be in danger.

In January, Carie Charles-Worth’s ex-husband showed up at her Catholic school in El Cajon, California. At the time, the school was placed on lockdown and the ex-husband was arrested and thrown in jail. Now that he’s out, Charles-Worth is out of a job.

“I left that afternoon and was told I was taking the week off and haven’t been back since,” Charles-Worth said. “How do you explain to your kids that they don’t get to go back to their school, their friends.”

Harlesworth is considering filing a lawsuit against the school.
