This week’s Team of the Week is Shawnee Mission West. This past weekend both the boys and girls cross country teams won regional championships.
“We have a quote,” Coach Jeff Onnen said. “Suddenly you’re doing the impossible.”
Runner Molly Smith said it’s kind of like their motto. And the team turned its motto into motivation, earning two individual titles and two team titles, the first for the boys in 22 years.
“The training paid off,” Onnen said. “All paying off at the end of the season.”
