KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Technology innovators from across the country are in Kansas City on Friday to share and shape new ideas. The Compute Midwest Conference takes place throughout the weekend at the Kaufmann Center for Performing Arts.

550 techies from all over the United States came to listen to eight guest speakers share their ideas and inventions. The creator of this event, Michael Gelphman, said the conference focuses primarily on technology of the future.

“There’s another guy that created a computer you can control with your hands that actually thinks and responds to you rather than just a touch screen. So there’s several innovations here and we’re just excited to host them in Kansas City,” Gelphman said.
