FESTUS, Mo. — A 13-year-old boy had the opportunity to gain some weath, but instead decided to do the right thing.

Now he says he’s glad he didn’t hesitate.

The teen says he found more than $750 laying on the ground outside a gas station.  At first he said, he thought about keeping it.  But instead, he called the police and turned in the missing cash.

Charles DeClue, the rightful owner of the money, says that the incident has restored his faith in humanity.

“Its amazing.  The world could use more people like you, bud.  “The reason I had all of the money is I had been checking Craigslist to find a set of wheels and tires for my car,” DeClue said.

DeClue gave the teen a $200 reward, which the boy promptly donated to Cystic Fibrosis research.
