RAYTOWN, Mo. — Thieves stole about 170 bronze vases at a cemetery in Raytown, Mo.

Raytown police said the thefts took place at the Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery located in the 7600 block of Blue Ridge Blvd. Someone took the bronze vases that people use to put flowers in at grave sites.

The groundskeeper said on Saturday, Aug. 9 about 100 vases went missing. He later found 30 of them in a pile on the property. The following weekend thieves stole another 100 vases.

The total loss is estimated to be about $100,000.
