LENEXA, Kan. — An overnight car crash has caused hours of repair work by KCPL crews. Police say the teenage driver of an Aviator SUV crashed into a metal light pole, a rock wall and then hit a wooden power pole, splitting it in half near 76th & Lackman road.

The crash caused power lines to fall across the road, cutting off power to nearly two thousand homes.

KCPL expects repairs to last most of the day and during that time Lackman road will be closed from 75th and 79th streets.

All power has been restored at this time.

Witnesses say the 17 year old female driver walked away from the crash. Police said alcohol may have been a factor.
