LIBERTY, Mo. — Power has been restored to thousands of KCP&L customers in Clay County following an outage on Thursday morning.

According to the utility company, nearly 7,000 customers were without power in the Liberty area for nearly two hours. Power was restored by 10:30 a.m.

A KCP&L spokesperson said that the outage was caused by a squirrel.
