OLATHE, Kan. — Graffiti in school restrooms isn’t unusual, but a note written on the bathroom wall at Olathe South High School put staff on alert Thursday.
The note, written in a boy’s restroom, said, “I’m going to blow the school up on 12/7/12.”
School officials said they don’t believe the threat is credible, but as a precaution they aren’t taking it lightly.
The school principal credited students with informing school staff about the message.
“They care about doing the right thing,” he said. “And they care about each other.”
While school staff doesn’t think the threat is credible, some students said they’re skipping classes on Friday.
