KANSAS CITY,  Mo. — Officers were trying to locate the parents of a child found wandering near 40th and Mill Street in Westport late Thursday morning.

The child was in a diaper and was reportedly running across the six lanes of traffic on Southwest Trafficway.

Police set up temporarily in the Sunfresh parking lot. as they requested a car seat to take away the child to be cared for as they looked for the adults.

FOX 4 has a crew on the way to that location.
