RAYMORE, Mo. — What a 12-year old-boy found in his Halloween bag Thursday night would make any parent blush.

“He said, ‘Mom what’s Pure Naughty?’ and I was like, ‘What are you talking about?'” said Andrea Taylor.

The mom from Raymore was mortified to find her son holding a business card that read: “Janelle’s Passion Parties.” Taylor told FOX 4, “I’m all for small business and I’m all for advertising but there’s a time and place.”

She contacted Janelle Gatson on her Facebook page that was printed on the business card but didn’t get the apology she was expecting.

“She said it’s just like putting a Mary Kay card in their Halloween bags! Makeup is one thing, adult toys is something completely different,” Taylor said.

FOX 4 left a message on Gatson’s voice mail. Her Web site was shut down by her corporate parent Passion Parties in Las Vegas. The company’s CEO JoAnee Harvie sent FOX 4 a statement that reads as follows:

Passion Parties is committed to helping adult couples strengthen their relationships with fun products that promote communication and intimacy. We are very proud of the service we offer and believe that we have made a positive difference in the lives of many women.

We have strict guidelines in place for our independent contractors to ensure that all aspects of our business are presented only to adults eighteen years of age or older. We were disappointed to hear that Janelle Gatson had provided business cards to minors as this type of conduct is clearly discouraged in our Code of Ethics.

Janelle was contacted this morning at which time we explained the gravity of the situation to her and the potential consequences of her extremely poor judgment. Although all of our websites contain prominent age restrictions, we have suspended her website account, to ensure these minors are not exposed to any adult content.

Passion Parties products are intended for adults only and we make every effort to ensure their privacy. Our websites and in-home parties are limited to adults of legal age. Passion Parties does and will continue to reinforce this concept with all of our independent contractors and do whatever is necessary to avoid this type of situation in the future.

Sincerely
