KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office has now charged four men in the severe beating case of a 20-year-old man on November 16.

Timothy Mulvey told detectives that late on the Saturday night before the alleged beating he was at a party in Mission, and friends dropped him off at a QuikTrip near Johnson Drive and Quivira. He said when he walked out of the store he encountered men who asked him if he wanted to go to a party.  He joined them and they drove to an area in the 500 block of Center Street in KCK where Mulvey recalled the men saying, “here’s the party.”

Police say Mulvey was repeatedly punched and beaten. Mulvey said he tried to escape by running into nearby woods, but was run over twice by his attackers and dragged more than 300 feet.

Prosecutors believe it was Wilkerson who ran over him with the vehicle.

Mulvey was left for dead when he said he crawled to a nearby house where someone found him in their yard at about 8:30 Sunday morning.

“Just laying there frozen to the ground. I mean it was pretty bad man,” said the homeowner who found Mulvey. “I just grabbed a couple of towels and threw them over him to try to keep him warm.”

Mulvey’s mom, Janet Carlson, said her son underwent plastic surgery on his face and was moved to a burn unit last week to treat severe frostbite, which resulted in first-degree burns on two-thirds of his body. He also suffered a shattered clavicle, broken ribs, a broken nose and an injury to his pelvis.

All suspects are being held in the Wyandotte County Jail on a $75,000 bond. They are due in court on December 9.
