KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two people were killed and two seriously injured in a car accident early Sunday morning.  The accident happened just before 12:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 50.

A car struck another vehicle from the rear, causing the vehicle to drive off the road, overturn and hit a tree.

Of the four passengers in the vehicle, two died at the scene.  The other two were listed in serious condition at area hospitals.

The car that caused the accident drove away and police do not have a description of it.
