KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office announced on Tuesday that two more suspects have been charged in the March 28 shooting that killed a 25-year-old father just two weeks after he moved to the Kansas City area.

Demar Swift died of a single gunshot wound he sustained in the parking lot of an apartment complex near 18th Street and Topping Avenue.

Authorities said Lyrick T. Bryson, 17, and Demarcus T. Rivers, 20, each face charges for 2nd degree murder, 1st degree attempted robbery, and two counts of armed criminal action.

20-year-old Martinez C. Lewis was charged on Friday with the same felonies in connection to the shooting.

Court records state the shooting happened as the suspects were attempting to rob Swift during a drug deal.

Prosecutors have requested a $250,000 cash bond for Bryson and Rivers.
