KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Supporters of Union Station say that they are asking for $10 million in tax credits to help support some planned improvements.
The Kansas City, Missouri, Council Planning, Zoning & Economic Development Committee will hear testimony on the application from Union Station officials on Wednesday afternoon.
The funds would come from the state of Missouri’s Development Finance Board. The city must apply for the credits on the behalf of Union Station.
Officials have not released specifics on their plans, but say that the funds would supplement fundsraising efforts to improve Science City, increase security and create a reserve account to pay for unexpected repairs.
