KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Police identified a 57-year-old woman as the person who died after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 29.
Saturday night police identified the victim as Lynne Mauton of Kansas City, Missouri.
Early Saturday morning police said a grey SUV, traveling southbound on I-29 at Tiffany Springs Parkway, struck Mauton who was walking in the lanes of the highway. Police said the driver did not appear impaired but was upset and transported to an area hospital by EMS as a precaution.
Officers said Mauton sustained life-threatening injuries, and later died at a local hospital.
