KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Only one day after the announcement that Verizon would be charging a $2 convenience fee, the company changed its mind. A consumer website, Engadget.com  leaked a memo earlier this week about Verizon planning to charge its customers $2 every time they paid a bill online. However, after public outrage from Verizon’s customers, the company dropped the proposed convenience fee.

Originally, Verizon said the convenience fee would help balance costs on their side of the transaction.
