OVERLAND PARK, Kan. –The city of Overland Park released video of the demolition to the Quivira overpass.
According to K-DOT, I-435 and Quivira is one of the most accident-prone intersections in the metro. In an effort to change that, crews imploded the Quivira overpass on Saturday and plan to widen Quivira from four to six lanes. Crews will also add axillary lanes to I-435 between I-35 and 69 Hwy.
Construction is expected to be complete in early July, weather permitting.
