LONDON — Attention all Bigfoot and Yeti hunters: Science wants your samples!
According to a report from the Associated Press, researchers from Oxford University and the Lausanne Museum of Zoology have put the call out to museums, scientists and Bigfoot aficionados for hair thought to be from the mythical creature to help determine if it actually exists, and if so where did it come from.
Bryan Sykes of Oxford University says that his research team has already received offers of samples to test, including hair, blood and items allegedly chewed by Bigfoot and his Himalayan counterpart, the Yeti.
He says that his team will be sifting through the samples to determine what to test, then publish the results in a peer-reviewed journal.
Sykes told the AP that he wants to rely on science to determine if stories about the legendary creature are real or fake.
“If we don’t look, we’ll never find out,” he told the AP.
