KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A suspected water main break at 66th and Troost was affecting many things Monday morning, including drivers’ commute to work, as well as school at Hogan Preparatory Academy  , 1221 E Meyer Blvd.

The superintendent, Dr. Danny Tipton, said students were already at school, but because of water issues, they’ve dismissed school for the day and were coordinating with parents and students their transportation home. They were working to get buses back to the high school by 10 a.m., after drivers finish the elementary and middle school routes.

Water was reported bubbling from the ground after 5:00 a.m., and was streaming heavily downhill towards Troost.
