BUCKNER, Mo. — The city of Buckner issued a boil order Monday morning and expects it to be in effect for three days.

When people woke up on Monday, their water pressure was extremely low.

The water department spent about three hours trying to determine if and where a water main may have broken.

They were not able to locate a break and suspected the problem may be in the water tower. However, they later located a break and are working to repair it.

They ask people to boil for three minutes before drinking or using water.

Classes at Buckner Elementary School were cancelled for the day due to the water issues.

The towns of Sibley and Levasy are also under the boil order.

Buckner is about 30 miles east of Kansas City on 24 Highway.
