ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KTVI) — Only seen on TV once, during the 2002 Super Bowl, an advertisement paying tribute to September 11th victims that featured the iconic Budweiser Clydesdales was a large undertaking according to sister station FOX 2.
The most moving moment comes near the end, with New York City’s skyline in the background, and the Clydesdale’s taking a bow to remember the fallen. But to make the idea for the ad a reality, Anheuser-Busch had to get approval from Congress, others in the ad community and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani according to FOX 2.
“We had a helicopter going over the Brooklyn Bridge. Mayor Giuliani let us into the city, the only film company of any sort right after 9/11 to actually come into the air space with our helicopter to film the Clydesdales, the hitch coming into Battery Park and it was amazing,” former Anheuser-Busch global creative vice president Bob Lachky said.
