WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A Wichita substitute teacher has pleaded to a lesser charge in a sex case involving a teenage girl.
Thirty-one-year-old Jarrod Alan Acquistapace will be sentenced May 22 on two counts of indecent liberties with a child.
The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office says Acquistapace pleaded guilty to the reduced charge on Monday. He had originally been charged with aggravated indecent liberties with a child, which alleged he had sex with a 15-year-old girl.
The Wichita Eagle reports the reduced charge accuses Acquistapace of lewdly touching the girl, which would make him eligible for probation.
Wichita school officials said last year that Acquistapace’s a substitute teacher from September 2011 to October 2013, but would not say how often he worked or at which schools.
