KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Family and friends sang, prayed and mourned at a vigil Thursday night to remember Marcus Heilderberg, the 23-year-old man who was shot and killed last weekend as he tried to break up a fight outside a bar.

Police say there were many people near the shooting Saturday night outside the Retro bar at Truman and McGee, but they had received no tips to help them in their investigation. On Wednesday, they released surveillance video showing people scattering right after the crime.

Those who loved Marcus again called on witnesses to come forward to help police arrest Marcus’ killer. Witnesses are urged to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
