KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A vehicle struck a woman walking on NB I-635 in Kansas City, Kan. The accident happened just south of the entrance ramp at Metropolitan Avenue on Thursday around 2:30 a.m.
The driver said she was driving home from a party. She said she saw the woman and swerved, but hit her with the right side of her car. The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. It’s unknown at this time why she was walking on the Interstate.
Traffic is down to one lane while police remain on the scene.
