ROMANIA — A woman is claiming she recently discovered a selfie picture of her dead grandmother on her cell phone, three years after her grandmother’s death.

The Daily Mail reported Gina Mihai, 34, of Romania, said she turned on her cellphone on and then saw a picture of her deceased grandmother with what she thought looked like a snake around her neck.

“When I switched the phone on I was horrified to see my dead grandmother’s face,” said Mihai to the Daily Mail. “She had what looked like a snake around her neck, and the whole image looked as if it had been taken through a hole, like it was shot through a tear in the fabric that separates the living from the dead.”

In Romania it’s customary to annually give food to the poor at service of alms for the dead. Mihai said she hasn’t given food for the three years following her grandmother’s death. She said a fortune-teller told her the message meant her grandmother needed to be prayed for.

“The fortuneteller told me that was a mistake not to have paid tribute to her with an offering of food, and it was significant that she contacted me while I was cooking. I have taken doughnuts to the cemetery every day since then,” said Mihai.
