GLADSTONE, Mo. — A Texas woman has been charged with shooting and killing a Northland psychiatrist who was allegedly having an affair with her husband.

Shannon O’Roarke-Griffin of Granbury, Texas, has been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the shooting death of 46-year-old Gladstone psychiatrist Dr. Irina Puscariu, MD, at Puscariu’s home in the 600 block of White Oak Lane on Friday afternoon.

According to the Associated Press, police say that O’Roarke-Griffin shot Puscariu three times after her husband told her that he would not break off the affair with the psychiatrist.

O’Roarke-Griffin was arrested on Friday evening near Wichita, and is currently in the Sedgwick County Jail awaiting extradition to Missouri. Bond has been set at $1 million.
