SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Authorities in Springfield say officers have shot and killed a woman who opened fire on two unarmed men at a storage facility.

The two men fled unharmed to a nearby radio station and called 911 around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday.

The Springfield Police Department says in a news release that police and Greene County sheriff’s deputies went to the storage business. Police say the woman initially refused to leave an office, then came out and pointed a gun at the officers.

Two deputies and two police officers then fired at the woman.

None of the officers was injured. Police said it was unclear by Tuesday evening whether the woman fired any shots.

The woman’s name was being withheld while relatives were notified. An autopsy is planned later this week.
