BELTON, Mo. — Tate Stevens, a Belton man with an amazing voice has become a well-known country music singer thanks to THE X FACTOR.

Stevens is a city street worker with the Belton Public Works Department and his co-workers have had to put up with all the Tate Stevens excitement, while also trying to get their jobs done.

So, they played a little joke on him. (Watch the video to see their funny T-shirts!)

One of his coworkers has known him since he was a kid and isn’t surprised by all the attention because he says Tate Stevens has been working for this all his life.

“His father had a band and they’d put him up there with a little cowboy hat and he was not shy. And he would sing,” said friend Paul Lepage.

The X FACTOR can be seen on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. on FOX 4.
