KANSAS CITY, Mo. — MLB Hall of Famer George Brett made it clear he wanted to be left alone; and was annoyed by a person seeking an autograph from him at Kansas City International airport.
The YouTube video was posted Wednesday and received a variety of comments. (Read below. WARNING: Video and comments contain obscene language.)
The video was posted by user ‘b kc’ and says: “While at the (KANSAS CITY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT) KCI I asked George Brett to sign a autograph and he has a tirade, threaten to kill shoot me.”
You can hear George Brett tell the person, “This is the last f***ing time.”
Toby Cook, Vice President of Community Affairs and Publicity for the Royals, told FOX 4 he spoke to George about what happened and George admitted he was tired at the time from his trip. George said he regrets the tone of his comments and meant nothing by them. George indicated he just wanted the individual to leave him alone after relentless requests for multiple autographs. He admits a poor choice of words.
“Yeah, you suck dude, f*** off and stop being a creepy as hell stalker. You need serious counseling. You really drove all the way to the airport to harrass Brett, again??” — M. Owens
“Looks like to me since you filmed it that you have harassed him enough to know he was eventually going to lose it and thought you would make him look bad. Sorry bro, not feeling sorry for you. If you are selling his autograph, then he should have kicked your ass!”– K. Chadwick
