FOX 4 spent the day on Friday talking with experts, all of whom said it’s best to do what it takes to rescue a child from an overheating car, even if it means breaking a window.
The owners at Economy Auto Salvage have to break windows all the time while they’re picking parts for sale.
John Kennedy says for the average person using a big rock may be the only way to break a window without tools.
Amber Rollins manages Kids and Cars and she’s petitioning the federal government to require automakers to install warning systems. She says those would be used to remind drivers there are kids in the backseat.
Experts remind us to break the window furthest from the child to ensure glass doesn’t hit anyone inside the car.
