COLUMBIA, Mo. — Missouri Tigers senior guard Michael Dixon, Jr. announced his decision to transfer on Thursday night, just hours after a second rape allegation was made public by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Dixon had been suspended since October, but was still allowed to practice and travel with the team. The University of Missouri confirmed Dixon’s intentions to transfer on Thursday night.

The Big 12’s Sixth Man of the Year last season, Dixon played an integral role on Missouri’s 30-win team that earned a No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament. The former Lee’s Summit West standout averaged 13.5 points per game in his junior season at Mizzou.

The first rape allegation to surface stems from an incident that occurred this August, while the second allegation stems from an incident in 2010. No charges have been filed in either case.
