KANSAS CITY, Mo. — If there’s one thing Kansas City is known for – it’s barbecue. And the key to great barbecue is not just how you cook the meat – but what you use to top it all off. On Thursday, July 7, the founder of Leon’s Barbecue Sauce, Leon Pierceson, visited FOX 4 and shared a  recipe for barbecue sauce that you can make at home.

Ingredients:

2 cups of ketchup
4 tbs of red vinegar
4 tbs of molasses
1/4 tsp of celery seed
1/4 tsp paprika
1/2 bottle of liquid smoke
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
