KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Owner and chef of The Depot 1887 in Leavenworth, Kan.,  Michael Nachbar says his food passion comes from his grandma and mother. Nachbar opened The Depot in August 2015, and as part of the FOX 4 Foodie segment Mark Alford and  celebrity chef Stretch take you inside to learn more about the history of the restaurant.

Nachbar then visited the FOX 4 morning show to demonstrate how to make smoked chicken hash benedict, which is smoked pulled chicken thighs, diced fried sweet potatoes, caramelized onions, two perfectly poached eggs with Chipotle hollandaise.

Smoked chicken hash benedict

Directions:

1 oz. Butter – Place on griddle
5 oz. Shredded Smoked Chicken – Place on griddle heat together
3 oz. diced fried sweet Potatoes – Place on griddle heat together
1 oz. caramelized Onions diced – Place on griddle heat together
After slightly crisp place on plate
2 ea. Eggs Place on hash
3 oz. Chipotle Hollandaise Pour over the top of the eggs
Dash Smoked paprika Sprinkle over top of dish.
