SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The Kansas State Wildcats are accustomed to the excitement that surrounds bowl games, and the Fiesta Bowl on Thursday is being pegged as one of the best bowl matchups of the season.
The No. 5 Wildcats take on the No. 4 Oregon Ducks– both strong offensive teams and many expect the final score to be high.
During practice on Thursday at Scottsdale Community College, the Wildcats emphasized one of the basics of football– tackling. Chip Kelly, the Oregon Ducks’ coach, joked in a news conference Thursday that he has some really fast players.
“You give ’em a crack, you miss a tackle, they can make you pay for it,” said Kelly.
Coach Bill Snyder wants his team ready for the Ducks’ swiftness.
“If you can’t pursue and you can’t tackle then you probably can’t win,” Snyder said.
“They get their talented guys out on the perimeter. A lot of their yards come from yards after contact. They make a lot of guys miss,” Nigel Malone, Wildcats’.senior cornerback said.
What else can we expect on Thursday?
FOX 4’s Jason Lamb followed the Wildcats to Arizona– and says many fans are wondering which uniform the Ducks will choose this time. They’re a team known for their flavorful uniforms.
