KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Royals left fielder Alex Gordon said he has passed concussion tests and has been cleared to play. Gordon was injured late Wednesday night as he tracked a deep fly ball to the warning track. He fell awkwardly on his backside and whacked his head on the outfield wall.

Gordon was out of the line-up during Thursday’s thrilling series finale victory over Cleveland and he’s sitting again Friday night. Although Gordon didn’t have a concussion, he did land hard on his hip and he’ll be sore for awhile.

It will be up to Ned Yost to decide when to plug Gordon back into the line-up.
