LAWRENCE, Kan. — Ahead of the Big 12 Championship this week, Kansas Jayhawks’ basketball coach, Bill Self, is already celebrating a big win.

USA Today named named Self the National Coach of the Year.

The award comes after Self led the Jayhawks to their 12th straight Big 12 regular season title.

Self’s team starts Big 12 Championship play Thursday afternoon. They will take on the winner from Wednesday’s K-State vs. Oklahoma State game.
