AUSTIN, Tx. — K-State’s run of five straight wins over Texas came to an end Saturday night in Austin. The desperate Longhorns jumped out to a 17-0 lead and held on to win 31-21. It’s K-State’s first Big 12 opening loss since 2008.
Texas has been reeling after back-to-back losses in which their defense gave up over 800 yards rushing. But the Wildcats could muster only 115 yards on the ground. Tyler Lockett caught 13 passes for a school-record 237 yards in a losing cause.
The Wildcats (2-2) are off next week. They play at Oklahoma State on Saturday, October 5th.
