WICHITA, Kan. — Kansas State ran its winning streak to six with a 72-62 win over No. 21 Gonzaga in Wichita.
The Bulldogs arrived in Kansas as one of the highest scoring teams in the nation averaging over 87 points per game. It’s the Wildcats’ first win over a ranked team.
They came out with great energy, especially on the defensive end. Gonzaga took a 48-47 lead midway through the second half.
Thomas Gipson (14 points) and freshman Marcus Foster (14 points) had several key buckets down the stretch as the Wildcats pulled away from the visitors from the West Coast Conference. K-State (8-3) made 19-of-25 at the free throw line.
