LAWRENCE, Kan. — Freshman Andrew Wiggins led all Jayhawks with 21 points in a scrimmage Saturday morning at Allen Fieldhouse. Wiggins also had an assist, a blocked shot and two steals. Sophomore Perry Ellis scored 17 points and hauled in seven rebounds.

“I think we are starting to get it but still we don’t play hard every possession,” Coach Bill Self said of the progress the Jayhawks have made since their first practice. “Watching our guys three weeks in, I know we have made a lot of improvement but we need to really improve a lot in the next two weeks.”

KU is ranked sixth in the USA Today Preseason Coaches’ Poll. The Jayhawks play their first exhibition game October 29th against Pitt State.
