MANHATTAN, Kan. — In a game that had six lead changes in the second half, the Kansas State Wildcats had the lead when it counted the most, beating TCU in Manhattan on Saturday 33-31.
It was K-State’s forth consecutive win, and made the Wildcats bowl eligible with a 6-4 overall record. K-State is now 4-3 in the Big 12. The Wildcats won the game on a last minute field goal from Jack Cantele.
“Well, right is right and wrong is wrong. When you make a mistake, you make a mistake. We just have to be a team that can go back and make the corrections that need to be made. I do not think it shields anything and I make that apparent to young people. I mean, I am proud of them. The fact that they came back and won the back and forth ball game. I certainly am awfully proud of Cantele,” said head coach Bill Snyder.
The Wildcats also got two touchdown passes from Junior quarterback Jake Waters, and a touchdown run from Sophomore quarterback Daniel Sams. Next week the Wildcats close out their home schedule with a saturday morning matchup with Oklahoma.
