The Kansas State Wildcats were expected to finish eighth in the Big 12 this season. Instead, they nearly took first place. Their win Saturday against the Iowa State Cyclones ended their most successful season to date.

Kansas State (10-2, 7-2) won against everyone except Oklahoma and Oklahoma State; the two teams that met Saturday in another pivotal showdown. The Cowboys owned that one, beating the Sooners 44-10.
