KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It’s Raider week, and the Kansas City Chiefs have lost five straight to the Oakland Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Chiefs’ last home win over the Raiders came in 2006. Herm Edwards was in his first season as head coach, and Carl Peterson was still the Chiefs’ general manager.
The Chiefs (1-5) own an all-time record of 55-49-2 against the Raiders (2-4). Last year, the Chiefs lost a heartbreaker to the silver and black, a 16-13 overtime loss on Christmas Eve at Arrowhead.
Raiders defensive tackle Richard Seymour blocked a pair of field goal attempts by Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop, and ultimately helped seal the Chiefs’ fate last season. Kansas City finished one game shy of winning the division and hosting a playoff game, so it was a devastating loss to say the least.
Quarterback Brady Quinn will make his second start for the Kansas City Chiefs. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. CT on Sunday.
